BGC Wolf Creek is getting ready to expand youth programming and services into Blackfalds this fall.

The new BGC location will operate out of the Blackfalds Iron Ridge Secondary Campus, and offer after-school and PD Day programs, summer camps, and a family counseling program.

A bus will be available to pick up youth from Iron Ridge Elementary and Iron Ridge Intermediate campus and take them to the after-school programs.

“It was a little bit of an undertaking to get it all going, but we're super excited that it's going to start in September,” said Beth Reitz Executive Director of Ponoka Youth Centre and BGC of Wolf Creek.

Reitz explained that BGC had received inquiries about services in Blackfalds from residents.

“We did a needs assessment through the Wolf Creek School division, and it came back very, very high,” Reitz said. “We know the growth in Blackfalds is so big right now with families and elementary-age children, and we just wanted to be able to offer boys and girls clubs programming to those families.”

Registration is currently open for programming.
