Blackfalds Days is officially kicking off tomorrow (June 13) and will offer a variety of events for Central Albertans to enjoy.

This year, the annual event features a Moto X big air show, minor ball tournament, pancake breakfast, arm wrestling championships, community parade, kids' zone, market, fireworks show, and more.

Arm wrestling was added to Blackfalds Days last year and has quickly become a community favourite event, bringing between 150 and 200 competitors.

Sean Barnes, Projects, Events, and Eagle Builders Centre Manager said he is looking forward to watching the air show and visiting the market.

“I want to see Global FMX this year, they're going to do some backflips, which is going to be kind of cool,” Barnes said. “The farmers market is getting bigger and bigger every year. I'm looking forward to that too as well.”

He added that Blackfalds Days is a vital event as it brings community members and visitors together.

“It reminds me of a community hub. It just brings people together and having a good time, meeting at a farmers' market or enjoying the fireworks show or watching the parade where they have friends and family,” Barnes said.
