Starting May 6th, 2020, Red Deer County is able to seasonally open up their County Day Use Areas.

Washrooms and group use facilities will still not be available, in collaboration with the Government of Alberta's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Open Day Use Areas include:

  • Taunton Hills Day Use Area at Pine Lake
  • The Joffre Bridge Day Use Area
  • A Soo Wuh Um Day Use Area near Penhold

The County would like to remind the public that playgrounds, community centres, and recreation facilities remain closed.

Day Use Areas will operate in accordance with the best practices set by Alberta Health Services prohibiting large gatherings of people and promoting physical distancing.
