Light Up Lacombe kicks off this week and there are several holiday themed events and activities you can take part in.
Here’s a look at what will be happening for Light Up Lacombe:
Thursday, November 23
Preparade Entertainment
Several performers will be hitting the parade route early for some preparade entertainment. You can check out elf stilt walkers, the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who and hoop artists.

Late Night Shopping
Several local businesses will be open late for shopping following the parade. If you are participating in Passport to Christmas for every $10 you spend at a local participating business, you will get two stamps on your passport until close on Thursday, November 23.
Indigenous Winter Solstice Story Time
The Lacombe and District Historical Society will be hosting Indigenous story tellers. There will be host chocolate and tire d’erable or a maple syrup shack.

Acronaires
The Burman University Acronaires will be performing just before the parade starts.

Breakfast with Santa
Grab breakfast with Santa for $10. All of the proceeds go towards the Lacombe FCSS. This is a ticketed event and tickets can be purchased at the Lacombe FCSS or Cilantro & Chive.

Ongoing events
Festival of Wreaths
Bid on a wreath created by a local business in a silent auction in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters Lacombe and District. The last day of bidding will be on December 16th at 1:00PM.
Location: Lacombe Memorial Centre and the Abbey Centre (Blackfalds)
Twinkle Light Tours
The Lacombe Flying Club is offering evening flights to view Christmas lights from above. The cost of the experience is a $80 donation that will go towards the Lacombe Food Bank. The Flight will take 25-30 minnutes with a maximum of three passengers per trip. Dates: November 24- December22 (Monday-Saturday from 5:30PM-7:30PM)
