At 1:56 p.m. today (June 27), Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for Mountain View County near Olds and Sundre.

Heavy rain will begin today, with total amounts of 50 to 70 mm.

Areas in the foothills will see heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms continue through the afternoon and intensify in the evening hours.

The rain will taper off Friday morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks, and culverts. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
