The Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their 20th Annual Gala Awards this Friday, October 20th which will celebrate exceptional local businesses and people in the area.  

This year, there is no theme but Executive Director of the Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce, Jeffrey Hanger is looking forward to seeing everyone enjoying themselves.  

“It’s going to be another incredible event this year. We have Howie Miller as the host and emcee. We have some wonderful sponsors that have come on board to help the event, but what's more important to me is the fact that we've got, we've got some incredible finalists that are going to be present at the awards and they're going to be waiting to see who's actually winning this year,” said Hanger.  

Hanger says there are still some tickets available for the event but if you’re looking to get in get them as soon as possible. He will be closing ticket sales in the evening on Tuesday, October 17th.  

This year, Hanger says there were many nominees in the community.  

“There was a lot of nominees. It's taken us, the board, and the judges a lot of work to get through the nominees. Like I said, there were about 50 nominated for the Customer Service Award alone. We've got that down to the four finalists,” explained Hanger.  

At the event, there will be nine awards presented in total.  

“This is the event in the City of Lacombe every year. We’re covering Bentley and Clive as well this year but this is the opportunity we have to celebrate what a wonderful community this is. We’re not only celebrating the businesses that are there, were not only celebrating the staff that are there, but we’re celebrating the community as a whole,” said Hanger.  

The Gala Awards will be hosted at the Lacombe Memorial Centre on Friday October 20th. The doors open at 6:00PM. For tickets you can call 403-782-4300 or email info@lacombechamber.ca.
