Demolition of the portable classrooms at École Lacombe Junior High School (ÉLJHS) has started for the summer.

The current portable classrooms at the school have reached the end of their life cycle and are being demolished and replaced by September.

“We have been working with Alberta Education for some time to secure replacements, and new portables will be brought in and installed over the summer,” said Tim De Ruyck, Superintendent of Wolf Creek Public Schools in a letter to parents.

When the demolition of the existing portables is complete, the new ones will be installed and ready for the start of the 2024/25 school year.
