Individuals with questions or concerns about their sexual health now have more access to testing, treatment and education with the opening of a sexual and reproductive health clinic.
The Ponoka Sexual Health Clinic — located within the Ponoka Community Health Centre, 5900 Hwy 2A — provides sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, birth control, inclusive sexual health education and other services.
The clinic is open Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Appointments can be booked by calling 403-783-8344 and drop-in visits are also available.
Services are provided by nurses, nurse practitioners and physicians free of charge, in an inclusive, judgment-free and compassionate environment.
All visits are confidential.
This is the only sexual health clinic outside of Red Deer in the Central Zone of Alberta Health Services.
