At 7:44 p.m., on Thursday (June 27) Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for Lacombe County near Blackfalds and Bentley.

Heavy rain will continue with total amounts of 40 to 70 mm.

Areas in the foothills will see heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms continue tonight and intensify through the evening hours.

The rain will taper off Friday morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
