On Tuesday (June 25) at approximately 2:14 p.m., the Breton RCMP responded to a serious collision involving a Dodge RAM truck and a Ford Ranger at the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 22 in Wetaskiwin County.  

When officers responded, emergency medical services and fire services were on the scene.  

The 87-year-old female driver of the Ford Ranger was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 36-year-old male driver of the Dodge RAM was uninjured.  

Although the cause of the collision is still under investigation, RCMP’s preliminary investigation indicates the RAM was heading northbound on Highway 22 when it collided with the Ranger that entered the intersection.
