UPDATE:

On Oct. 6, 2023, shortly after 2 p.m., Sundre RCMP located a deceased female in her vehicle in the parking lot of a local business. RCMP Major Crimes were called in as the death appeared to be a homicide. Police were able to identify a suspect vehicle and a suspect believed to be involved in the homicide.   

An Oct. 7, 2023, Sundre RCMP located a deceased male near the suspect vehicle in a rural Sundre area. The cause of death of the male is still being investigated, but at this time, RCMP are not seeking any further suspects in the homicide of the female. There is no risk to the public.

BACKGROUND STORY

On Oct. 6, 2023, shortly after 2 p.m., Sundre RCMP were called to a local business on Main Avenue West in response to a call for assistance. Upon arrival, a deceased female was located in a vehicle.

The RCMP is investigating the death as a homicide and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken carriage of the investigation. Police are looking for any witnesses that may have seen anything suspicious. Police are also looking to collect any video evidence, and if there are anyone willing to share their vehicle dash camera video or security video from their homes or business.
