Some good news for Central Albertans, Red Deer County has decided that with the warm weather forecast for this Thanksgiving long weekend, the County day use areas will remain open.
If you are thinking about having a Thanksgiving picnic with your family, remember these sites are "first come, first served" and can not be reserved.
Some of the day use areas include:
A-Soo-Wuh-Um Day Use Area-Highway 592, Red Deer County
- Gates open at 8:00 AM and close at 9:30 PM every day.
- No overnight camping. Picnic shelters are first come, first served.
Joffre Bridge Day Use Area-Highway 11, Red Deer County
- Gates open at 9:00 AM and close at 8:30 PM every day.
- No overnight camping. Picnic shelters are first come, first served.
Petro Beach/Sylvan Lake Day Use Area-Lakeshore Drive Sylvan Lake
- Gates open at 8:00 AM and close at 9:30 PM every day.
- No overnight camping. Picnic shelters are first come, first served.
Taunton Hills/Pine Lake Day Use Area-Township Rd. 364
- Gate open at 8:00 AM and close at 10:00 PM every day.
- No overnight camping. Picnic shelters are first come, first served.
