The Town of Sylvan Lake honoured the accomplishments of residents through the Citizen of the Year Awards.  

The awards are given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the community, improving the quality of life for others.  

 The award recipients this year are:  

  • Kyle Munro - Sports Excellence   

  • Donna Ellerby - Long Time Service Volunteer  

  • Laura Lauder – Citizenship  

  • Don Rattray - Mayor's Distinguished Award  

  • Jaxstyn Rodin - Youth Award of Excellence  

  • Ainsley Elisa McCallum - Music, Art, Culture and Heritage  

The award recognizes individuals who have contributed to the arts, long-time volunteers, athletes, and youth who help the community, show strong character, and demonstrate awareness for social change.
