Red Deer RCMP would like to advise the public that the situation at 51 Avenue and 50 Avenue has been resolved.

The RCMP Emergency Response Team’s involvement at the scene has ended at this time.

Red Deer RCMP were searching for a male wanted on outstanding warrants, and will continue to investigate. The male has not yet been apprehended and police are still searching for the male.

There is no risk to the public.

May 18, 2023 at 10:54 a.m., Red Deer RCMP are currently responding to a police incident in the area of 51 Avenue and 50 Avenue.

Police are asking residents to avoid the area as it will remain blocked during the investigation.

There is no immediate threat to the public.  

Police ask that residents refrain from posting photos of officers on social media.
