The Lacombe Palliative Care Society will be hosting a two-day education session later this month for Lacombe Residents.

Jamie Mierau, The President of the Society talks about the sessions. "It is being put on by the Alberta Hospice Palliative Care Association. It is  palliative care training for members of the community to be able to give them confidence to provide quality support services in any settings such as hospice care centers or private homes."

The education session will be held on Monday, January 11th and Tuesday January 12th, from 8:00 am to 4:45 pm at The Lacombe Memorial Centre. Lunch and coffee will be provided.

Mierau explains what attendees will learn. "You can learn how to empower people, bring people together,  and learn how to build palliative care awareness in our communities."

It is a free event, but because of a huge response anyone else wanting to join will be put on a wait list.
