Christmas may be over, but the work and fundraising for The Red Deer Christmas Bureau doesn't end.
Coming up on Saturday, January 13th, is their 2nd Annual Book and Bottle Drive. You are asked to donate your gently used or new adult and children's books for the Literacy Centre.
Cosmos Bottle Depot will also be on site to collect donated bottles and cans. This is one of the biggest fundraisers for the Christmas Bureau. The book sale will happen January 27 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Christmas Bureau office. All books are just $2 and you are asked to bring your own bag.
The Literacy Centre, which is located on the second floor of the Christmas Bureau, is used to give reading materials for families, and to teach English as a second language for newcomers to Canada.
The Book and Bottle Drive will run from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at The Red Deer Christmas Bureau (#2, 4630 61 Street)
