Due to an unexpected gap in physician coverage, there will be no physician available in the Emergency Department at the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre from 5 p.m. on June 13, until 8 a.m. on June 14.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is working to ensure residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time. Nursing staff will remain on-site in the emergency department to provide triage and assessments to patients who present to the department. Patients will be referred to alternative care options depending on their condition.

Anyone requiring emergency medical care during this time is asked to call 911. EMS calls will be re-routed to surrounding facilities.

Other care services at the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre are not impacted by the temporary closure.

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency, health-related questions.

AHS is grateful for the support of staff and physicians who have helped minimize this temporary disruption as much as possible. Additionally, AHS appreciates the support of surrounding healthcare centres and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.
