A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for the Lacombe, Red Deer, Ponoka, Innisfail and Stettler areas.  

Weather conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms which could create damaging wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. 

Thunderstorm activity is expected to hang around into this evening.  

Large hail and wind can cause injuries. As always, the safest place to be during a storm is indoors.
