RCMP are investigating the sudden deaths of a 12-year-old girl from Sylvan Lake, and a 13-year-old girl from Red Deer.

EMS were called to the Best Western Hotel on Lakeshore Drive in Sylvan Lake on Sunday morning.

According to RCMP, there was a male parent nearby, but no other details have been released. The medical examiner has been called in to determine the cause of death.

RCMP are also saying that there is no indication of potential suicide or homicide at this time. Toxicology tests will be done.

Earlier today, police said that the deaths are most likely non-criminal in nature and cause of death will not be released to the public.
