Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors is set to start construction on the Highway 11 bridge crossing over the CN Rail line in Rocky Mountain House today (May 6).

The project will include a new bridge deck, concrete repairs, and paving and upgrading of the existing guardrails.

During construction, pedestrian crossings over the bridge will be closed, and drivers might experience speed reductions, lane closures, and delays.

Traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction, with reduced lane widths.

To mitigate the impact on drivers, a traffic accommodation strategy is in place, including additional signage, delineation, and if required, illumination.

Drivers are asked to obey all signs when in the construction zone.

The project is anticipated to be completed by late October, weather permitting.
