The Lacombe Food Bank has been fully re-stocked following the holidays. General Manager at the Lacombe Community Food Bank, Millie Snow says the shelves are looking great.

“We got a lot of donations from schools, churches, and private people and it was just wonderful,” said Snow.

“On a whole, our shelves, our food everything looks good,” she added.

On top of the food bank being fully re-stocked, Snow says everyone who requested a turkey over the holidays received one and there were even a few left over. The General Manager expects the current supply of food to last until March, but need in the community continues to remain high.

“It's probably doubled but there's been a lot of people coming in over in the last couple of months," Snow explained.

Despite the generosity this holiday season, Snow says there are always some things that remain on the food bank’s grocery list.

“We order ground beef so that’s something we keep bringing in and stuff like that. [We also need] toilet paper. It seems like every week we need it.”

Snow is very thankful to the community for their support over the holiday season.

“I just want to say thank you to the people of Lacombe. They've been so generous. It's them that does it. We just pass it on. But it's them that has kept the shelves full and the food coming in and so we've been able to help anybody that comes in,” she added.
