A Lacombe resident, Peighton Melton, has been named the RDP Athlete of the Week. The 2nd year Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies plays on the Queens Basketball team.
This past Friday she put up 18 points, and then on Saturday had a 17-point game against the Lions.
She was awarded the Player of the Game on Saturday. Four games into the season, Melton is averaging 5.5 rebounds, and 14.8 points per game.

On Friday evening in Calgary, Carlson led the Kings with 16 kills, three service aces and two blocks in the straight victory over the Lions. He would follow this up with an impressive 14 kills, four blocks and seven digs in the 3-1 match victory over Ambrose University.
At the end of the weekend, the Sylvan Lake outside-hitter finished with a ridiculous +31 plus/minus.
