Happening tomorrow, Saturday May 24th, there will be a Relay For Life fundraising event at ME Global Athletic Park. If the weather turns too rainy, the event will be held indoors at the LCHS gymnasium.

The event, which starts at 5:00 pm,  is being organized by the Lacombe Composite High School (LCHS) leadership team. Isabelle Collins, a grade 11 student, and member of the team talked about Relay For Life.

"Relay for Life is a fundraising event for the Canadian Cancer Society and it gives us an opportunity to get involved in the community and raise money for Cancer Research and a bunch of other cool cancer initiatives. It's  just a really fun event with lots of activities. There will be a luminary ceremony so that everybody can show who they're relaying for and we can all see how cancer affects everybody's daily lives."

Kacey Talsma explains what will be happening on Saturday. (weather permitting)

"Some of the activities we have include animals coming in from a shelter to have a little petting zoo, we have our goats from our school coming into the school  to hang out. We also have a bunch of yard games that will be happening in the gym, if not on the football field. We have a raffle, a basket table and different things like decorating your team shirts and decorating your luminaries to show tribute to people with cancer."

Bella Konnik says there are many ways for people to learn more about the Relay For Life and to donate as well.

"Our LCHS Instagram and Facebook pages are the exact same. Head to LCHS_relay_for_life and find all the information on there"
