A recent fundraiser, The Mrs. Roper Romp, has raised over $1400 for both the Sylvan Lake Food Bank and The Sylvan Lake Municipal Library Food Pantry.

The fun event, based on the Television Character Mrs. Roper from Three's Company, happened on April 27th in Sylvan Lake.

Annette Brown the organizer of the event, talked about why she did it. "I just feel that with the economy, the way that it is, these services are being utilized more and more and they are in need of a replenishing of their funds and supplies."

The fundraiser also brought in over 64 pounds of food. In total there were 78 people signed up, and dressed up for the event.

Brown says she would like to do it again. "I think it's going to have to turn into an annual event. It was so much fun, a lot of feedback where people had a blast and we are very thankful for all involved."

Brown also said it was a "win-win" for businesses as well as the participating restaurants and bars were filled where ever they went. It was a great chance for everyone to connect.

If you would like to donate to the Food Bank or Little Pantry at the Library, they are looking for the following items:

Meat, cheese, eggs, milk, canned proteins like tuna or ham, hygiene items, baby food and diapers, cleaning supplies and even pet food.
