The Penhold Fire Department received some much needed equipment recently. They got a skid for wildland firefighting as a donation from GlobalMedic.

The skid is easily installed or removed from a pickup truck box and would be available for use should other equipment be deployed out of town. This ensures the level of service remains for the town while equipment is on deployment with less reliance on neighbouring departments.

Alberta Health Services, in partnership with the Penhold Volunteer Fire Association, purchased a new Lifepak 15 (Cardiac Monitor) worth $26,500. This lifesaving device will be available for use on emergency call outs.

On an unrelated note, Penhold Fire Fighters challenged the Bowden Prison Guards in the annual charity hockey game. The game was a huge success with over 1,100 lbs of food donated and $1,000 raised for the Red Deer Food Bank.
