Notre Dame High School student, Olivia McAuley, has been selected as the 2024 Schulich Leader at the University of Calgary.   

The scholarship comes with $100,000 in funding and is awarded to exceptional students across the country for their excellence in Science, Technology, or Mathematics.  

McAuley is one of the 50 recipients of a Science, Technology, and Math Scholarship across Canada, recognized for her academic excellence and entrepreneurial leadership.  

“This group of outstanding students will represent the best and brightest Canada has to offer and will make great contributions to society, both on a national and global scale,” said Seymour Schulich Program Founder. 

“With their university expenses covered, they can focus their time on their studies, research projects, extracurriculars, and entrepreneurial ventures. They are the next generation of entrepreneurial-minded, technology innovators.” 

With the scholarship, McAuley will be studying for a Bachelor of Science. 

“Receiving the Schulich Leader Scholarship is a life-changing opportunity for me,” McAuley said. “It not only eases the financial burden of university but also provides me with the freedom to fully immerse myself in my studies and pursue my passion for innovation in science, technology, and math.”  

Ike Hanna, Principal of École Secondaire Notre Dame High School expressed how proud the school is of McAuley’s achievement.
