The Maskwacis RCMP are providing more information into the June 10, incident in which the police responded to a report of a shooting in Samson Cree Nation. 

An investigation into the incident revealed that multiple bullets were fired into a residence occupied by several children and adults. 

The investigation by police led to the arrest of two individuals and the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Wetaskiwin. 

During that search warrant execution, police recovered prohibited firearms and magazines.

At this time, police are searching for Dorian O’Shea Hunter (23) a resident Maskwacis in relation to this incident, as he’s wanted for:

  • Possession of a weapon obtained by crime;
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon with ammunition;
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized (X2);
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm; and
  • Failing to comply with a release order.

Trey Littlechild (24) a resident of Samson Cree Nation was charged with:

  • Possession of a prohibited device contrary to an Order (X2);
  • Possession of a prohibited device knowing its possession is unauthorized;
  • Failing to comply with a release order; and
  • Failing to comply with a probation order.

Alyssa Soosay (29) a resident of Samson Cree Nation was charged with:

  • Discharging a firearm with intent; and
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device.

Both Littlechild and Soosay were taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody following a bail hearing and appeared at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin on June 18.
