A Red Deer resident, Benjamin House, has been named the RDP Athlete of the Week.

Benjamin helped the RDP Kings secure the top spot in the ACAC with a fourth place finish at the Thunder Open this past weekend in Calgary.

House's performance was even more remarkable as he was running with a sinus infection, which makes breathing very difficult.

Head Coach Douglas Spicer said he is in excellent condition and surely has a great season ahead of him.

“He has ambitious goals which, if you know him, you can be confident he will reach. His leadership skills made him a great choice as captain of our Kings team this year. He continues to show great maturity for his age and is a great pleasure to work with.”

The Kings will be back on the cross-country this weekend with their meet in Calgary hosted by the SAIT Trojans. The men’s 8km race will get started following the end of the women’s race which will start at 12 pm.
