UPDATE: 6:22 am, December 2nd
On Dec. 1, 2023, at 3:18 p.m., Blackfalds RCMP received a report of a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and a semi truck on the QE II Highway at gasoline alley. The pedestrian was taken to local hospital and subsequently flown to Calgary in serious condition. The driver of the semi that struck the victim remained on scene.
Details on the victim are not available at this time.
The investigation into the circumstances of this collision continue.

Red Deer Emergency Services is attending a collision involving a pedestrian on Hwy II NB, just north of Mckenzie Rd. at Gasoline Alley
The 3 left lanes are closed & expected to remain closed for 2+ hrs. Traffic is moving (slowly) in the right lane. Please drive safely as crews clear the scene.
RCMP anticipate remaining on scene for several hours.
