Central Alberta will get hit with some big changes in weather over the next couple of days.

Environment Canada is forecasting possible freezing rain Sunday with a high of plus 1, then temperatures falling all the way down to minus 19 by Monday afternoon. 

Watch for slippery conditions and blowing snow this afternoon and on your Monday morning commute.

Sunday

A mix of sun and cloud. 30 percent chance of flurries. Rain showers beginning late this afternoon. Wind southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light this morning. High plus 1.

Tonight

Rain showers changing to snow and local blowing snow this evening. Risk of freezing rain this evening. Local snowfall amount 2 to 4 cm. Wind becoming north 40 km/h gusting to 70 near midnight. 

Monday

Light snow. Wind north 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light in the afternoon. Temperature falling to minus 19 in the afternoon. Wind chill minus 22 in the morning and minus 27 in the afternoon.

Tuesday

A mix of sun and cloud. High minus 18.

Wednesday

Sunny. High plus 2.
