The 8th Jake Saufert Memorial Ice Fishing Derby is coming up thisSaturday, February 24, 2024, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, at Brownlows Landing on Gull Lake.
The Jake Saufert Memorial Derby aims to make a lasting impact on mental health initiatives. The Saufert family, with the support of many generous individuals, has established a Memorial Fund in Jake's name. All funds raised during the event will be directed to the endowment fund with the Red Deer and District Community Foundation. This ensures a sustainable means of providing support to individuals and organizations actively involved in mental health initiatives, creating a positive legacy for the community.
This event is not only a celebration of Jake's memory but also a testament to the community's commitment to making a difference in mental health awareness and support. Come join us for a day of ice fishing, community spirit, and meaningful contributions to mental health initiatives!
Registration is $25 per person, Junior Anglers (10 and under) fish for free. The event features cash and draw prizes for both adults and Junior Anglers and lunch is included!
