Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the central Alberta area for the Lacombe, Red Deer, Ponoka, Innisfail, and Stettler.  

Conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms, wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain. 

Strong wind gusts can toss objects and cause injuries, damage buildings, and break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.  

It’s always safest to go indoors during a storm.
