A couple of central Albertan municipalities have been recognized with the 2023 Minister’s Awards for Municipal Excellence. Each year, the awards recognize the accomplishments of municipalities and public library services.
In Central Alberta, the City of Lacombe and the Village of Alix were given awards.
Lacombe received the award in the Service Delivery Enhancement Category for the Downtown Area Redevelopment Plan’s Heart of Lacombe.
The Village of Alix received the award in the Smaller Municipalities Category for their Partnering with Crime Prevention initiative.
Other municipalities that were recognized include Flagstaff County, the City of Edmonton, Lac La Biche County, and the City of Leduc. You can find more information on those awards by clicking here.
