Lacombe City Council approved a $12,346.50 Community Builder Partnership Fund grant to Echo Lacombe for the Cranna Lake Trail Solar Lighting Project.

Echo Lacombe is leading the project to install solar-powered pathway lighting along a designated route at Cranna Lake.

Six solar light poles will be installed to enhance safety, connectivity, and accessibility, a City of Lacombe media release said.

"Lacombe City Council is pleased to endorse Echo Lacombe's solar lighting project for Cranna Lake," Mayor Grant Creasey said. "These lights will add safety and functionality to one of our city's most popular recreational trails. Council is excited for the Community Builder Partnership Fund to be utilized to improve an amenity used by so many residents and visitors in our community."

The project aligns with the city’s strategic goals of ensuring Cranna Lake remains a vibrant and inviting space for all members of the community.

The total budget for the project is $49,386, with Echo Lacombe contributing $24,693, the city contributing $12,346.50 and $12,346.50 coming from other grants and sponsorships.

The funding was approved after council received a recommendation from the Lacombe and District Recreation Parks and Culture Board.
