The Lacombe AA Generals still don't know who they will be playing in the next round of the NCHL finals.

The Red Deer Rustlers are within one win from qualifying for the Vanberg Cup finals for the second time by virtue of their close 5-4 win over the Crush in game 5 on Tuesday in Camrose.

Red Deer held period leads of 3-2 and 4-3 in the closely played contest.  Dylan Houston lead the way for the Rustlers picking up 1-3-4 and Mathieu Lapointe added 2-0-2. Rustler's starting goaltender Nathan Alalouf came out of the game at the 9 minute mark of the 1st period and backup Devon Carroll was strong the rest of the way to preserve the win. Camrose's Dayton Murray scored 2-1-3 in a losing cause for the Crush.

Game 6 goes on Saturday night in Penhold and if Camrose wins that game, the 7th and deciding game will be played on Sunday evening in Camrose to determine who will go on to face the Lacombe Generals in the Vanberg Cup finals which will start on the following weekend in Lacombe.
