On March 6, at 11:55 p.m., Olds RCMP received a report of a collision between two semi trucks on Highway 791 and Highway 27.
Upon arrival, the driver and lone occupant of one of the semi’s, a 50-year-old Red Deer resident, was deceased.
The driver of the other semi was treated on scene by EMS and released.
Initial investigation indicates that the deceased’s semi was travelling Southbound on Highway 791 when it failed to stop at the intersection with Highway 27 and was struck by a Westbound semi.
The highway was redirected for several hours while emergency crews cleaned the scene.
