On Oct. 13, 2023, at 12:10 a.m., Ponoka RCMP received a report of a serious assault that occurred at a residence on 62 ave. in Ponoka. The victim suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital where they remain in serious but stable condition.
While early in the investigation, RCMP believe that this was a targeted attack and there is no risk to the public.
Ponoka RCMP are asking for residents for assistance. Residents in the are of 62 ave and 50 street are asked to check their surveillance cameras around this time frame and report to RCMP if you see anything suspicious.
