On Oct. 13, 2023, Ponoka RCMP received a report of a serious assault that occurred in a residential area of Ponoka. Upon arrival, the victim had suffered apparent stabbed wounds among other injuries. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The victim and accused’s were known to each other.
As a result of an investigation, Ponoka RCMP arrested two suspects in relation to this investigation.
21-year-old Cree Lightfoot, a resident of Maskwacis has been charged with:
- Attempted murder
- Aggravated assault
- Failing to comply with release conditions (x2).
Cree Lightfoot has been taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with her next court date set for November 3, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Ponoka.
48-year-old Tracy Lightfoot, a resident of Maskwacis, has been charged with:
- Attempted murder
- Aggravated assault
- Failing to comply with release conditions.
Tracy Lightfoot has been taken before a justice of the peace and remanded in custody with their next court date set for Nov. 24, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Ponoka.
