The Ponoka RCMP is encouraging residents to register for the Rave Alert Mass Notification System to receive real-time alerts and information about public safety and crime prevention.
Users can register online and select the region they want to receive alerts for, how they want to receive the alerts, and the kind of information they want to receive, including:
• Traffic advisory notifications
• Crime watch notifications
• Crime prevention tips
• General public safety messaging
“The Rave Mobility Safety platform has proven successful throughout Alberta communities. We are pleased to offer Rave to Ponoka and area residents with the hopes that we can achieve similar success here,” Ponoka RCMP Staff Sergeant Erin St-Cyr, Detachment Commander says. “By using Rave, we are able to provide enhanced public safety awareness, and enable people to actively contribute to improving community safety."
