Autumn Roos, a 3rd year Bachelor of Education Middle Years student, has been named the Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Athlete of the Week.
Roos, who is from Ponoka, helped the RDP Volleyball Queens earn a four set win over the Olds College Broncos by scoring 17 points. She also accumulated 10 kills, four service aces, three digs, three blocks and one assist.
The RDP Queens Volleyball team (13-6) finished second in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) South Division during the regular season. The Queens will face The King’s University Eagles in their opening match at the ACAC Championship in Lethbridge on Thursday, February 22.
The RDP Kings Volleyball team will also advance to the playoffs as they swept Olds over the weekend. With the win, the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Volleyball team (16-3) solidified first place in the ACAC Men’s Volleyball South Division. On Thursday, February 22, the RDP Kings will play The King’s University Eagles in their first match at the ACAC Championship in Olds.
