The Red Deer Lions Speed Skating Club will be hosting the Jeremy Wotherspoon Long Track Meet, January 20 and 21, 2024.

Olympic style and mass start races will take place at Setters Place, (Great Chief Park, 4707 Fountain Drive, Red Deer).

More than 100 skaters of all ages and abilities will be competing on the outdoor long track oval, a legacy facility from the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
This meet will attract skaters from across Alberta qualifying for the Canadian Youth Long Track Championships. Younger skaters in the ability and open divisions will also be competing both days.

Races will take place between 9 am-3 pm, both Saturday and Sunday. Due to this unseasonal winter - weather permitting.

The Red Deer Lions Speed Skating Club, established in 1953, provides short and long track sessions for skaters of all ages and abilities according to the Long -term Participant and Athlete Development Plan.
