After coming off a successful 5-game road trip down to the States, The Red Deer Rebels were rested and looking forward to being back at home.

Unfortunately, the Peavey Mart Centrium Friday night wasn't a welcoming place. The Rebels dropped at 7-4 decision to the Kamloops Blazers.

The home team went down 3-0 after the first period but would battle back in the second with four goals to head into the third tied at 4 goals apiece. Ben King got Red Deer on the board with his 13th of the year. Other Rebels scorers were Carson Birnie, Kai Uchacz (with his 41st) and Jhett Larson.

Then it all fell apart. Kamloops would score two power play goals and a third to win the game 7-4. One of the penalties was a double minor to Craig Armstrong for slew-footing. The Blazers would end the night going 4 for 5 on the PP.

Next up for the Rebels, back-to-back games with the Medicine Hat Tigers. Tonight (Saturday) Red Deer hits the road to Medicine Hat, and then Family Day Monday they host the Tigers 2:00 pm at The Peavey Mart Centrium.
