Red Deer’s newest Councillor, Chad Krahn was sworn in on Monday (May 13) before the regular meeting of council.  

Krahn is the first-ever councillor in Red Deer to be elected during a municipal by-election.   

The by-election was held on April 22.  

With 10 candidates in the running to fill a vacant councillor seat, Krahn was elected with more than 36 per cent of the votes cast. 

After being sworn in, Krahn joined council for the first meeting of his term.
