The Red Deer Lions Speed Skating club will hold a meet today (Saturday, November 4th) from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
This will be the first ever competition to be hosted at the new G.H. Dawe Arena.
The Club is planning a big day today, as skaters from all across the province have been invited to compete. It will also be the first meet for many of the club's younger members.
The public is welcome to come watch and cheer them on.
If you are interested in trying out speed skating, they have speed skates for you to try on their free open try nights. New members are welcome all season.
