Red Deerians can make a splash as the Recreation Centre Outdoor Pool opens for the season today (June 1).  

The outdoor pool is located at the Recreation Centre (4501 47A Avenue) and features a 50-metre pool for public and lane swimming, one and three-metre diving boards, and a children’s shallow area with spray features. There are also deck chairs for lounging around the pool.  

Along with the outdoor pool, the spray parks opened ahead of schedule on May 28. The Central Spray and Play, and Woody’s Spray Park are open daily from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., weather permitting.  

Other water-based amenities within the city also open today, including Discovery Canyon, and the Capstone Fountain.
