On May 29, Red Deer Crime Reduction Team officers observed a known repeat offender operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.

Due to this offender’s history of dangerous driving and flight from police, including ramming a police vehicle, police conducted surveillance and brought in additional resources including Calgary Police Services HAWCS helicopter, Innisfail RCMP, Police Dog Services, the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team, and RCMP Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Team.

Once exiting the motor vehicle, the suspect was safely arrested.

RCMP obtained a search warrant for the vehicle the suspect was driving and as a result located:

  • Small amounts of cocaine, Xanax, GHB, and oxycodone;
  • over 1.3 KG of Methamphetamine;
  • A loaded handgun.
