Santa getting ready to celebrate Sylvan Lake this weekend

Santa Claus will be heading to Sylvan Lake this weekend for the Annual Light Up The Lake Festival 2023.

Here are some of the events happening this weekend:

Yuletide Festival Holiday Market and Live Music

Friday, December 1st 4:00-8:00 pm

Saturday, December 2nd 10:00 am -4:00 pm

This family fun event happens at the Nexsource Centre.

Some of the activities include the Holiday Market, A gingerbread house contest, Yuletide Festival Kid's Zone, and the Sylvan Lake Curling Club Holiday Family Bonspiel in the Curling Rink on Saturday, December 2nd.

Lighting of the Winter Village

Friday, December 1st at around 8:30 pm

Come check out the beautiful lights on the pier being lit up to kick off the holiday season.

Breakfast with Santa

Saturday, December 2nd

Come have breakfast with the big guy at the Nexsource Centre. There will be seatings available at 8:30 am, 9:55 am, and 11:20 am

pre-registration is required.

Santa Claus Parade

Bring the whole family down to the parade that starts at 5:00 pm Saturday. (see map below)

Please expect road closures for the Santa Claus Parade

• 47 Avenue between Herder Drive and 50 Street?
• 50 Street between 47 Avenue and Lakeshore Drive?
• Lakeshore Drive between 50 Street and 44 Street?
• Saturday, December 2, 2023?
• 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM?

Fireworks

The fireworks show will be visible from anywhere on Lakeshore Drive. It will start at around 6:30 pm on Saturday night.
