The Annual Ponoka Festival of Trees is back again this year.

This year's fundraising event for the Ponoka and District Health Foundation will run from Wednesday, November 29th to Saturday, December 2nd. All events will be held at The Ponoka Stagecoach Saloon (5616 39th Avenue)

Diane Rose, a coordinator for the event,  talks about what the money raised this year will go towards.

"Our money is being raised for a mobile X-ray machine that is going to help save patients lives. When they're in a serious accident, they are going to be able to take the mobile machine into a room and the patient will not have to move. And the images get uploaded right away and people will know exactly what's wrong with the patient."

Something different this year is an online auction. You can help raise money and bid on items you like.

Many of the popular events are returning this year including The Seniors Country Christmas and Coffee, The Ladies Country Christmas Wine Night, and The Opening Night Gala and Auction which Rose says is a great event every year.

"There are going to be lots of live and silent auction items, the chocolate tree, and live entertainment by Shalaine Stebner." Doors open for this event at 6:00 pm on Thursday night.

Another big event is the Family Fun Day. There will be live entertainment, a petting zoo, a magical show, prizes and more. Sunny the mascot will also be there for the kids. There are two sessions for this running from 9:00 am to noon, and from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
