The Central Alberta School Bus Road-eo showcased the skills of drivers.

The annual event brought 32 school bus drivers from across Central Alberta to the Notre Dame School in Red Deer on May 25, to demonstrate their skills, and commitment to safe transportation.

The Road-eo features an obstacle course with 11 challenges, and a written component, allowing drivers to showcase their proficiency in handling various scenarios encountered during their daily routes.

"The Road-eo goes beyond mere competition," said Betty Clark, Wolf Creek Public Schools (WCPS) Transportation Manager. "It serves as a vital opportunity for professional development, empowering drivers to refine their skills in a supportive environment."

During the event, driver Kelli Frere was recognized with the prestigious Road-eo Spirit Award, honouring her exceptional commitment, enthusiasm, and team spirit.

Three WCPS bus drivers, Ben Murto, Jerry Witvoet, and Andria Helland have secured spots in the upcoming Provincial School Bus Road-eo competition on June 8, at the AMTA site in Nisku.
