On July, 28, 2023, after a month long investigation, Olds and Didsbury RCMP, the Southern Alberta Emergency Response Team and Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances search warrant at a property on Highway 791 in Mountain View County.

As a result of the search, the following was seized: 

  • 16 grams of suspected Fentanyl
  • 353 grams of suspected Methamphetamine
  • 20 grams of suspected Cocaine
  • 5 grams of suspected Heroin
  • 1 sawed off 12 gauge shotgun with ammunition
  • 1 cross bow and 8 knives
  • A collection of new Milwaukee tools, still in their sealed shipping boxes

Matthew Goodine (47), a resident of Red Deer County, was not present during the search, he has been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (x3) - Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Cocaine
  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order (x5)
  • Weapons and firearms related offences (x9)

Goodine is currently wanted by Olds RCMP for these 18 criminal offences.

Alyssa Friendship (28), a resident of Red Deer County, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (x3) - Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Cocaine
  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000

Friendship was released on conditions for Alberta Court of Justice in Didsbury on Sept. 11, 2023.

Jayden Desaulniers (27), a resident of Red Deer County, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (x3) - Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Cocaine
  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000

Desaulniers was released on conditions for Alberta Court of Justice in Didsbury on Sept. 11, 2023.

“This was a successful operation targeting a repeat offender and his associates,” says Staff Sergeant Warren Wright of the Old RCMP, “ focusing our enforcement efforts on offenders such as these can have the largest impact on reducing crime in our communities.”
